I’m fairly new to backup exec, we are running 12.5. Right now Symantec are calling us wanting to upgrade to the latest version… but I’m not sure. I’m really thinking this product is a waste of money. I can’t even get it to tell me a simple thing like the aggregate size of all the servers I’m backing up. It has a lot of options to backup things in different ways. But never gives you any help with what’s best practice. For example we have a VMware environment, over two clusters. But we (as done by the last Sys Admin) are backing up all our servers by the Remote Agent. Is that the best way to do it… I just don’t know.
Anyway if someone can enlighten me on these issues I would appreciate it.
