Requirements for Deduplication backup (offsite recovery)

We currently run 12.5 with no deduplication using tape.

We're planning on moving to disk storage and Backup Exec 2010 with deduplication but wondering what the requirements are for an offsite copy of the backup data.

Do we need a second copy of Backup Exec running on the other server? Or is it as easy as just backing up the entire main server to the remote disk by using something inside 2010?
