Restore Job Created with no file selections

I'm running Veritas 9.1 on a Windows 2000 Server. A few weeks ago, while I was creating a restore job, a disconnect occurred between Veritas and MSSQL. I think that SQL died, for some reason, and I had to reboot in order to continue. As a result of these events, the restore job exists in the job setup tab and is scheduled in the job monitor tab. but it has no file selections! It will not delete from either tab. If I edit the job and make some file selections, it is then scheduled as a new job in the job monitor tab, so I still can't get rid of it!

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Hello,

Please try the following steps:

1. please run a BE repair database
http://support.veritas.com/docs/265180

2. If the above solutions does not help then please run a reload from base.
Note:
All media sets, backup-to-disk folders, and other settings will have to be created or configured again.

Please update us on the results.

Thanks,

I've tried a databse repair several times, but it doesn't fix anything. My server is too busy for me to clean out the database and recreate all the backup jobs.

I think the problem is caused when one selection list is shared by several jobs. If you delete one job and the selection list, the other job is left behind as an orphan.

Hi,

If you can not perform the reload from base steps as given in the first reply, just to get rid of that Job still displayed in the Job Monitor :

1.Right Click on that job
2.Select delete
3.if "Cancel pending "
4.Restart all backup exec Services.

Update us as per the results.

Thank you

Thanks for the suggestion, but no luck. If (in the Job Monitor pane) I click "Delete" I get the Delete Job confirmation box up. I then click "Yes", but nothing else happens. The job does not go pending and does not delete. The same happens in the Job Setup pane. If I open the job properties it warns me that there are no selections. If I make some selections it automatically creates a new job for them.
