Hi,
we have BE2010 R3.1 and Exchange 2007.
Now I have to restore old E-Mails from the backup.
The result has to be a pst file, which we can burn to dvd and send per mail.
The actual Mailbox of this user should not be filled with the old mails.

So create a temporary mail user with a mailbox
Redirect the GRT data from your backup to this user
Then either login to Outlook as the user, create a PST file and drag the data across
OR
Use some form of Exchaneg export tool to dump teh mailbox to a PST.

Hi
With backupexec you cannot restore email has PST ,As restore would restore the data to mailbox of the user specified.
But what you can do is you can create test mailbox activate it by sending receving email & restore old email to that mailbox & then save that as PST
Please also check the link below

Thanks

Are the 'Old' e-mails you need to restroe also from Exchange 2007 as if not you are going to have to build an offline Exchange environment to restore to.

The old E-Mails are from the same EXchange Server , but only one Year old.
and I need ALL E-Mails from this time in an pst file.

...best thing I'd suggest is to duplicate that backup set to disk. You've then got the flat-file Information Store. Then use a 3rd party app to pull it out of there and into a *.pst...Ontrack PowerControls can do this.

nice idea....
but I only have exchange and BE 2010 and I don´t wanna buy new tools

...then the redirected restore as per Colin is the only way to go, and if don't want to go that way, you're stuck.
