We have a server that crashed and I tried to do a restore of the Shadow Copy Components (System State) to a file on the Media Server Temp directory. We do not have connectivity to the down machine so I wanted to restore to a file and then copy that file to the down server to restore the registry settings. It errors out telling me it cannot connect to the resource. I've tested backing up other files from the tape of the down server and no problem. But, Shadow Copy Components, no way.
Any advice as to why this is happening?
