Restore deleted Distribution Lists in Active Directory

I have an Exchange 2003 environment with Windows 2003 AD, and a user accidentally deleted members of a distribution list. Is there a way to restore active directory objects such as DLs?

Hello,

Please note that this has to be treated as a recovery.
Perform the following steps to troubleshoot this issue:-

-- bring in a recovery server
-- restore entire Information Store to recovery server as redirection.
-- then export list from recovery server and import it back into production

( Use Exchange "Export" feature to get the distribution list)

Chris,

Did you ever find a solution to restoring distribution lists that was less painful than restoring the whole Exchange Server?

I got lucky this time and was able to restore the list through the users deleted folder (Tools-Recover Deleted Items), but cringe at the thought of restoring the whole information store for one user's lists.
