Hi,
We are getting a final error message of 0xe0009585 Unable to open a disk of virtual machine when trying to restore any VM from tape in our DR environment.
both production and DR esx hosts are esxi 5.1, both production and DR backup servers are physical windows servers with backup 2010 R3 sp3.
it seems to create the VM successfully and it shows up in vcenter inventory with all its disks but after 22 or 23kb of the restore it fails with the above error.
does anyone know what would cause this? some credential issue perhaps, the DR backup box is not part of our production domain but it seems to work as far as creating the vm and copying the first 22kb.
I have had a good search around on google but the error codes V-79-57344-38277 V-79-57344-65072 and 0xe0009585 seem to be used for a huge variety of different causes and i havent spotted anything yet that looks like our situation.
any help or suggestions or even requests for further info would be greatly appreciated.
