Restoring an Exchange Mailbox

I started to restore a single mailbox and found the BUE program loading the entire Exchange Mailbox Database. Is this normal? I've restored single mailboxes before but it just went so fast. Maybe because our database was significantly smaller then I'm wondering. I freak out when a restore of a simple single mailbox takes an hour just to load the entire database and I cancel the job. I want to make certain it is not restoring the entire database for one mailbox. Help please.

Where was the backup saved disk or tape?

Hi

 

If you are doing restore from tape for that single mailbox then it is going to stage the whole mailbox database to local disk on backup server & then once staging is done it will restore the mailbox & then will delete the staging location at end of backup

 

If backup is on disk then restore should happen directly
