SL 500 installation - Not showing as Robotic Library

Hi ,


Backup Exec ver10.0
OS : Windows 2000
Tape Library - Storagetek SL500 (Sun StorEdge L500) -FC ,2 * IBM Ultrium Drive

The Tape Library directly connected to the server using HBAs,

Windows Device Manager showing Two Tape Drives and Unknow media Changer.

Backup exec only recognizing the tape drive as Two standalone Drives and not showing anything under Robotic Library .

Please anybody can help on this issue.

Firstly, kindly check if the device is compatible with BE v10.0 from the below mentioned link:

Symantec Backup Exec for Windows Servers (tm) 10.0 Hardware Compatibility List. Includes HCL information for supported drives, libraries, virtual tape devices, fibre-channel HBAs, switches, routers/bridges, and iSCSI components. For printing purposes, the latest version of Acrobat is recommended.

Also, please note that the Changer must be detected in the Windows Device Manager. Unless its detected by Windows, Backup Exec will not be able to recognise it.
