SQL server not visible even with SQL agent installed

Eric_Polino

We are using Backup Exec 12.0 and had one license for the SQL agent which works for one of our remote servers.  We purchased another SQL license for a second SQL server we want to backup.  This server has the standard backup exec remote agent installed and I am able to backup any regular files, but I can't see the SQL server as I do on the other server.  The only difference between the servers is that the one that works is still running SQL server 2000 and the new one is running 2005.  The default backup login is a domain login that has SQL server admin rights on the remote server.  I don't know why this one isn't working.

Step 1:

Remove both the license and continue with the install

Step 2:

After completing the install, put the license and check the status

Step 3:

Microsoft SQL databases are greyed out and cannot be selected in the backup selection list even though Backup Exec Agent for SQL is installed.
