Scheduled backup fails after recovery

After every recovery we do in Veritas Backup Exec 9.1 build 4691, we have to restart all backup exec services. Otherwise the next scheduled backups will fail (it writes only a few bytes in more than 50hours, what isn't very normal).

We haven't installed the following 2 updates:

- be4691RSP4a_280008
Date: November 03, 2005 Size: 22487 KB
VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.1 for Windows Servers revision 4691 - Service Pack 4a - Includes Critical Security Update

- BE4691RHF1_264677
Date: December 15, 2003 Size: 8474 KB
9.1.4691 Hotfix 1 - Desktop and Laptop Option (Enables support for the Desktop and Laptop Option)

Should the first update resolve this problem?

Some more informatuin
-We use windows 2003 Servers, with a HP NAS with windows 2003 server as file server
-Backup Exec is installed on our domaincontroller
-Backup exec remote agent is installed on all our servers

Hi Tom,

This is a known issue supposed to be fixed in Service Pack 3. You haven't elaborated on what service pack you are currently running.

Assuming you haven't applied this, then go ahead and apply SP4a, since it is the latest and cumulative.

ok, thanks!

We'll install this SP later today.
