Selection lists - NAS Folders VERY slow to open

Using Backup Exec 12.5 for Windows Servers on SBS 2003.

When creating selection lists for backup jobs, I can navigate through, open and select folders / files without a problem until I try to access one of our Lacie 2TB NAS drives. As soon as I click to expand / open one of these drives, Backup exec 'locks up' for at least 10 minutes before the folder opens. Sometimes the same happens again when trying to expand a sub folder.

Other NAS drives work fine, and the Lacie drives are otherwise operating perfectly well (navigation through other software or windows explorer is fine).

Due to our complex backup procedures I regularly have to alter the selection lists so this is becoming extremely time-consuming.

Any suggestions?

Have you added the ip of NAS in the user defined selection and then expanding. Also what kind of rights do you have on the NAS. Make sure you create the BESA account onthe NAS and use the same account to expand the NAS selection and then check if still taking that long.

It seems it is taking the time for authentication.
