Shadow Copy disabled after restore???

I'm installing a new Windows 2003 file server. Clean install and all criticals and security patches installed including SP1. I have an empty NTFS volume that I can enable shadow copies on. After I restore file data from BE10 from the old server, the volume is "not eligible for shadow copies". In the Disk Manager, the volume's File System changes from being listed as NTFS to nothing after the restore. The drives properties say it's NTFS, but disk manager doesn't show it.

The volume is hardware raid 5 and Dynamic.

Any ideas??

The restore removed the SYSTEM account from the volume's security. Adding it back to the volume restored teh ability to use shadow copies and disk manager now shows teh volume as NTFS.
