Shifting BEWS 2010 r3 from domain to workgroup

Dear  Team,

One of our customer want to shift media server from domain to workgroup. SLA is domain account . We backup media server and remote windows

server in workgroup.

            I want to know steps to be taken so that after placing media server in workgroup my backup application remains functional.

Please  guide on same.

First take the server in Workgroup. Then start all the Backup Exec services in Local System Account.

Then go to C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec and run BEutility.exe.

Right click on the servername and select the option Update Media server Information.

Enter the details and that should work for you.

  If it promts for domain name , can i use computer name here.

...if you are updating the details through BEutility.exe, then you'd use your local server name\admin + the password.

Enter the details as follows:

Current Domain Name ; (Keep this blank as now the server is in workgroup)

Current BE Servername : (Just put the Netbios name of the server)

Previous Domain name : (Name of previous domain where Backup Exec server was in)

Previous Media servername : (Same as above if you have not changed the servername)
