Slow Backup Speeds with Tyan 2469UGN motherboard and adaptec 7902 chipset

hello. we have out quantum DLT8000 hooked up to a TYAN 2469UGN motherboard.

we did have a zero channel raid card installed, but we were having issues with the hard drives, so we pulled it.

the quantum DLT drive is still hooked up to the tyan board using adaptec 7902 drivers.

prior to removing the ZCR card, we were getting consistent backup speeds of around 320MB/min and the backups ran flawlessly, now that we are using the adaptec 7902 drivers, our backup speeds fell to around 50 MB/min.

i tried setting the buffer size to 128k and the block size to 64k, but no change in speed.

Hi,

Refer to the following steps which may help in improving the performance.

The Antivirus software is configured to scan files when accessed. So, each time Backup Exec attempts to backup a file, the antivirus software scans the file and slows down the backup.Try backup by disabling the scanning feature of the Antivirus software in order to return the backup to normal
speed.

Please ensure that the Virtual memory is properly configured.
