Slow Throughput Rate

Hey all,

Just brought up a new server...nothing special or different than any other machine I've got.  When doing a remote backup, I'm getting throughput rates below .05MB/min.  Getting the same speeds when I do a regular NT backup, across the network.  Other remote machines usually have a rate of 300-400MB/min.  I'm able to backup locally just fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

If local backups are acceptable, and BackupExec, NTBackup and large file copies are all slow, check that each end of each pipe on the network path is hardset rather than AutoNegotiate (tho one end Auto and one Hardset ought to work too)

Depending on your hardware, this may help, too

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!

This command "Netsh int ip set chimney DISABLED" saved my hide!!!

I went from 15Mb/Min to 700Mb/Min after doing this on my exchange server. Please link the the thread above me to see if this applies to you. It took me a good two weeks with support then I started doing some more searching on this forum to find this. It got to a point with support where they said "you need to contact Microsoft" Turns out it was just a littl TCP Chimney engine issue. So much for that feature.
