We are doing a backup to disk and I did a full backup on Friday and it took 29 hours for 500 gig. Here is the setup.
Media server physical server with the d2d folders on a SAN LUN connected via FC. Here is what I get from one of the Backup summarys:
Backed up 845192 files in 57743 directories.
Processed 342136694658 bytes in 21 hours, 4 minutes, and 27 seconds.
Throughput rate: 258 MB/min
Compression Type: Software
Software compression ratio: 1.3:1
This server is a Hyper-v server both the media server and the hyper-v are on a 1gb network the data right now does reside on a Iscsi nas also connected viv 1gb network.
This summary is from a physical server where the data is located on physical disks in the server both the server and the media server are on the same 1gb switch.
Backed up 604192 files in 47791 directories.
Processed 188256906724 bytes in 8 hours, 20 minutes, and 49 seconds.
Throughput rate: 358 MB/min
Compression Type: Software
Software compression ratio: 1.4:1
In the past we had backed up to tape and a full would take about 15 hours. Any thoughts as to why so slow now?
