Slow backups

I've just downloaded the trial version of backup exec 12.  I'm running a test backup to our new VTL unit and so far, find that the backups are a little slow.  I'm getting 262/Mb min.  Being new to backup exec and that there is no support with the trial version, just wondering if someone could point me in the right direction.  I suspect that the backups should be going much quicker.  I have configured backups on the following hardware.

Blade Server with dual 2400Mhz Cpu

Nic- Teamed 1Gb

Vtl - Quantum DXi5500 (fiber attached)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm also experiencing very slow backup. It didn't work for me but some posts suggest to upgrade Symantec drivers http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/302874.htm. Also check if your hardware is supported by BE12 http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/294294.htm.

If not then try using your own drivers, not Symanyec's

Since it emulates a DLT7000, perhaps we can adjust the properties a little

From the Devices Tab, right click and select properties

Do you get a page with Block Size, Buffer Size, Number of Buffers, etc?
