Some questions about BackupExec

CCE
Not applicable

Hello,

I have a few questions about BackupExec.

In a local network we have many servers running Windows 2008 Server, Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server and last but not least, Windows NT4 Server...

The Backup Server will be the one running Win 2008. Other servers will act like "clients".

- If I set up BackupExec on the main server (Win 2008 S), will it be able to backup the NT4 server ? I don't see NT4 in the compatible systems, but is there a way to backup files by using Network Sharing or something else ?

- Is there a client (or agent) to set up on every server we want to backup ? If we must set something up, is there a client/agent running on NT4 servers ?

Thanks for your help, and sorry for my english.

1) The last version that officially supported NT4 was v9.1   V10 would connect to a v9 remote agent, but Veritas said that if you had any problems, you were basically on your own v11 and v12 only support as far back as W2K

2) Yes, all ServerOS machines must be running a licensed RAWS (remote agent) in order to be backed up
