VSS Snapshot warning: File vhdbus.sys is not present on the snapshot

I have a new Windows Server 2008 Standard x64 server running a single Hyper-V virtual server and I am running Backup Exec 12d SP1 (latest according to Live Update). Whenever I do a system state backup of the host server it completes successfully but with one exception:

Backup- \\server_name\System?State \\server_name\System?State
VSS Snapshot warning. File c:\windows\system32\drivers\vhdbus.sys is not present on the snapshot.

Any ideas as to how I can add this file as an exception or any other method I can use to get around this 'exception' error? I have tried adding the following exception to my selection list but it does not seem to help:

\\server_name\System?State\vhdbus.sys /SUBDIR /EXCLUDE

Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

we have a similar problem. Has anyone found a solution for this problem?

Since this file is not even present in the DRIVERS folder, I went ahead and deleted the pointer from the registry under \HKEYLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\PnpLockdownFiles.  You need to modify the permissions of the Key to allow delete, so be careful.  I will know tomorrow if it worked.
