Hi
I have an install of Backup exec 2010 R3 which seems to be stuck on being a trial version. I have entered the license keys supplied by Symantec under 'tools->install, options and lic keys' and this stays there for 60 days then gets removed.
Any ideas ?

1) Reinstall license key, make a note if the services are being restarted during the installation process.
2) Repair Backup Exec database using BEutility.exe
3) Repair Backup Exec through add\remove programs.

Is your Backup Exec Media Server running in a trial or any of the options ?
An option/agent trial cannot be removed:

Hi
The aspect that seems to be a trial status is the fact that the splash load screen displays 'Trial version', other than that all seems normal. However yesterday it seemed to remove the license keys that had been entered. I suspect that in 60 days time the same thing will happen.

The Backup Exec 2010 Splash Screen reports "Trial Version" when using a Backup Exec Small Business License key on a Hyper-V host protecting a Windows Small Business Server (SBS) Guest (Figure 1).

See Related Documents (TECH140561) for more information when entering a Backup Exec Small Business Server licensee on a Hyper-V host to protect a Windows Small Business Server SBS guest.
Backup Exec will function as Expected providing the workaround\solution is implemented in document (TECH140561).
The "Trial Version" splash screen message can be safely ignored as this is a Backup Exec GUI annoyance.

The second link worked, though i had to sue IE rather than firefox (?). Anyway that seems to explain the issue. The server may have been rebooted about 60 days ago. I guess i'll just have to wait and see. If it happens again then some doctering of the startup order of services will be required.
Mant thanks for your help.
