Tape Alert warning

Hello,

I'm fairly new to backups and our company uses Backup exec 11d on windows server 2003.

Before the scheduled time of the back up, I receive a message saying "Tape alert Warning" and then the back up job starts but it remains as an active job even the tape has ejected.

What should i do? Any help pls????

Thanks

What is the rest of the TapeAlert message?  Are you stating that this TapeAlert pops up all by iteslef, without any jobs running or you doing anything within BE?

I receive the message when a backup job is running.

I check the alerts and the message is the following:

Warning - Environmental conditions inside the tape drive are outside the specified temperature range.
Robotic Library:
Drive: HP 1
Slot:

Yestarday i insert a brand new tape (never used this tape before) and the job was completed succesfuly. No alerts.

But with tapes i used them in the past i receive that message.

TapeAlerts come from the hardware.  I would guess that your tape drive is overheating.  I would contact your hardware vendor for assistance.
