Tearing my hair out trying to install a replacement tape drive in BEWS 12.5.
Had an HP Ultrium LTO-3 external drive swapped out by an engineer last week after an HW failure. For some reason the replacement was not picked up in BEWS 11d - just showing as offline. Deleted and tried to re-install drive via device wizard - no joy. Removed from "Devices" and got Server 2003 to re-scan for hardware, picked up fine, just not seen in BEWS 11d.
Upgraded to BEWS 12.5 as the installation was due upgrade in the hope that this would fix issue. Installed latest updates and device driver update patch. Ran BEWS Device Wizard, removed and re-added drivers. Seems to install drivers as requested, but when I look under the devices tab, there's still no drive listed.
Drive tested as working with HP TapeTools & Windows Backup. I'm at a total loss as to next.
