Test Backup Exec 2012 encryption

I have a backup job in BE2012 with encryption active. The cuestion is how I can test this encryption is right and the content is really encrypt?

Install BE in a test environment and try to perfrom a restore of the encrypted data.

A test restore on a server that did not do the backup will only really prove you have a password on the tape. If you really really want to prove that encryption is performing encryption then you would have the send an example tape off to a data recovery company (but this will cost)
