Test IDR

Hi,

I'm new to Veritas btw ...

Had to do a disaster recovery to my win2K SBS using windows backup about 3 weeks ago, so i've now invested in Veritas Backup Exec.

Just installed backup exec 10.0 to my win 2000 small business server. My main concern is disaster recovery. Have followed instructions and created a bootable IDR CD with IDR diskettes. I would like to know how i can verify or test the IDR process when booting from CD, but from the help file, it seems that when booting from the CD, it starts to restore the HDD(s) without much prompting.

How can i test this (even to another machine), as i would sleep better in the knowledge that all is well.

Thanx in advance,

Steve Baker

Ok, thanks.

I've tested by bootable IDR CD to where it warns me about overwriting partitions, OS files, etc, so it seems to be working from that aspect. I suppose the only way to really test it is to try IDR on an identical machine.
