Hi,

I really DO HATE BE right now: The error mentioned in this subject prevents me from doing a backup for almost 3 hours now!

What I did:
1. Removed BE 10.0?! because it had problems to access tape AIT2
2. Rebooted
3. Installed latest Version 10.d from Veritas Website
4. Rebooted - BE Server won't start (above error message)
5. Installed Update Patch be5629RSP3_287295.exe
6. Rebooted - BE Server won't start (same error)
7. tried out different ways to recover database from BASE, rename .mdf, .ldf to .old, renaming .upg (files do NOT exist!!!) and so on.

for instance:

one of these docs says: well, error depends on what you did. so please redo original isntallation ... or contact tech support ...Smiley Very Happy

So how do I get rid of this d*mn problem!!!! I only want to run this piece of software ...

regards,
jens

When I get the error mentioned above I did the steps below and it works fine again....up and running.

- Un-installed Backupexec and create a fresh install.
- Copied the data and catalogs folder from old backup.
- Migrated the databases using Bemig command.
