I am having a Intermittent issue with one of my sites, I have Backup Exec V10 - All Latest Updates Inc SP1 running on a dedicated Windows 2003 server standard (fully updated)
It is backing up 10 Remote Servers (inc Exchange 2003, SQL 2000)
I have a external Overland SDLT Tape Loader connected to a dedicated Internal SCSI card. - All Properly Terminated.

The job fails at differnet stages and when the job Fails we recieve following errors within the Application Log:

Backup Exec Alert: Device Error
(Server: "BACKUP1") (Job: "ILF Full Daily Backup") The drive hardware is offline!

Backup Exec Alert: Job Cancellation
(Server: "BACKUP1") (Job: "ILF Full Daily Backup") The job was canceled by user Recovery.

Faulting application bengine.exe, version 10.0.5484.30, faulting module msvcr71.dll, version 7.10.3052.4, fault address 0x00010428.

Hello,
-So is it that the be job engine service is crashing toward the end of the backup and the tape is also going offline?
-Is the backup job spanning to more than one tape?
-Are you facing issues with the tape device regularly for all jobs?
