hi all, the backup exec is giving me this error when i am backing up the folders which are being replicated to our branch office through DFS replication. all the folders are local to the server. i am not backing up any remote servers. still the problem. any help would be appreciated. thanks

if someone runs into same problem, just want to let you know that in our case it was DFS replication which is culprit. deselect the folder called dfsprivate from selection list, it should work fine. thanks

1) Make sure you have selected the DFS data through Shadow copy components.

2) Also check the fragmentation of the disk where the data resides.

3) check the event viewer for any faulting module error.
