The weekly backup is using the daily backup tapes.

Hi,

I'm using BE9.1 on Windows 2003 Server. I have a robotic library tape drive that can hold 8 tapes. The cleaning tape is in the 8th slot and designated as the slot to hold the cleaning tape.

On Fridays I put two tapes in for the daily (labeled Friday-1 and Friday-2) and 5 tapes for the weekly backup, to fill the rest of the 7 slots up. The dailys are set to backup each night at 11:00pm. The weekly backup is set to run on Saturday nights at 11:00pm.

Just recently, the weekly backups has been using the Friday's tape and just over this weekend the Friday daily backup used the weekly backup tapes. Now the job status is queued.

Any help will greatly be appreciated.

The only way to guarantee that BackupExec uses specific tapes for a given job is to partition the loaderm, and then point each job to the appriopriate partition
