Throughput

Jeff_Ericson
Not applicable
We have BE 9.1 running writing to Spectralogics 2Ks with Sony AIT4 drives. Throughput reported by BE is around 500MB a minute. Realizing that all sorts of factors can effect this, is this high/low or average in your opinion? Our backups take 20hours plus on a daily basis even with differentials. We are contemplating adding 2nd drives to our untis.

Hello,

Throughput of 500 MB/min is a good throughput level. Anyways it depends on what you backup and whether it is local or remote, and on whether on B2D or on tape.

You can refer to the following documents if you feel if you can achieve more throughput.

If you are backing up Exchange then refer to the following document.

Please write to us if the issue persists.
