To duplicate backup media is slow.

I use BE2010R3SP1. I have already updated latest Service Pack and Hotfix.

I created 2 devices on BEConsole.

One is D Drive of Local Disk. (ex. D:\B2DFolder)

Another is Netrowk Drive. (ex. \\host-name\D$\B2DFolder)

After backup job is finished, I want to duplicate to another server.

I created jobs with Policy. The policy include Full Backup Job and Duplicate Full Backup Job.

But this duplicate process is very slow.

I try to copy the media file by manually.

In this case, the transfer rate is very fast.

I cannot get any hints......

Hi,

what are you duplicating? Is it perhaps a dedupe folder? What is your network set too?

Thanks!

Hi,

Have your current B2D settings follow the best practice?

Thx

Duplicate is B2D folder, not Deduplication Folder.

I did not check all items.

I will inform the point that I will feel something.

Instead of using a share name, map a drive letter.

BE runs as a batch file so it cannot use mapped drive.  It has to use an UNC name for the share.

This mean that my way is wrong, right?

I use drive letter (\\host-name\D$\B2DFolder).

This is wrong.

I should share the folder (B2DFolder), and use UNC name (\\host-name\B2DFolder).

Is this correct ?

Does this affect the job rate?
