Hi All,

I have two drives Seagate DAT STD2401LW-S/R and I want to attach them to one Backup Exec Server in a daisy chain. Is it possible? Do I need some aditional licences (like Library Expansion Option)? and if it is possible, can I run two backup jobs in the two drives at the same time?

Thanks a lot!!!

Regards,

Hello,

Are these standalone drives? If yes, then backup exec can support unlimited standalone drives and no additional license in needed. However if these are the two drives of a robotic library, then backup exec supports the first drive, but for every additional drive, a Library expansion option is needed.

You can run concurrent jobs on the two drives. Refer to the following technote for more information on this:

Title: How to run concurrent backup jobs with Backup Exec for Windows Servers

Hope this answers your question. Revert in case of doubts.
