Two jobs + single tape

Hi,

How do i make use of single tape for 2 jobs? Will selecting the option  "Append to media, terminate job if no appendable media is available" serve my purpose? Jobs will run at different times in a single day.

Hi,

If you want to use only one tape, the optino for the second job could be "Append to media...", works.

Yes, append to media is what you want (for the second job).

You also need to make sure that both jobs target the same media set, and that that media set has a log enough append period.

In other words if your first job starts at 6AM, and your second job starts at 6PM, you should have an append period of at least 12 hours (and possibly a little more, to allow for jobs not always starting at the precise time they are scheduled).
