Ultrium LTO 2 drive fails with hardware error after writing <2Mb on BE 10.0

Hi all,

Having a major issue with a Certance CL400LW2U Ultrium LTO2 drive under Server 2003 and Backup Exec 10.0.

The drive reads/erases/inventories/catalogues ok but try and write to it and it fails after writing anywhere between 500kb and 1200kb.
The job rate only starts at about 10mb/sec from the beginning and drops to 0, then fails stating a communication error, check cables/power etc.
We've used the taperx utility for the drive and can do read and write tests with success for as many GB as you could want, but try and back up real data and you get less than a Mb.

We have tried the drive on BE 9.1 with no joy either, it was thought upgrading to BE 10.0 might solve the problem (updated support/drivers etc from 9.1) but obviously hasn't.

We're running Fuji 200/400Gb tapes, however we noticed the barcode rules for LTO only include:
LTO-10 (87m, 10Gb)
LTO-30 (203m, 30Gb)
LTO-50 (319m, 50Gb)
LTO-100 (609m, 100Gb)
Should this include a 200Gb LTO? If so, where can I get the barcode info from?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as (typically) this is the tape drive for our main file server :\
