Unable to Catalog 2 tape set.

Recently I switched to a Full/Differential backup scheme. I am now trying to restore from the FUll backup.

I delete catalogs after 14 days and need to re-catalog a FULL 2 tape set.

Veritas 9.1 allows me to run the job,but only merges the files from the 2nd tape. The job completes with a success, but shows a write protect media error (these tapes are a month end and I write protect them)

I need to be able to catalog the complete set (tape 1 and 2) to restore some files.

Any ideas???

Open BE GUI, go to Tools | Options | Catalog and deselect the option "use storage media-based catalogs".
Run the catalog once again on both tapes.

I have tried this solution but Veritas continues to only catalog the 2nd tape int he set. If I only catalog the first tape the system still asked for the 2nd tape.

Please inventory the two tapes and then catalog the tapes. Then try to restore.

As per our previous reply, marking the case as assumed answered and moving it to answered questions pool.
