Unable to Initialize Remote Agent

I am running BE for Windows Server 10d (rev 5629) and just recently have experienced a problem with backups erroring out with "Unable to initialize Remote Agent". Job ended: Wednesday, April 26, 2006 at 1:40:17 AM
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe00084af - The directory or file was not found, or could not be accessed.
Final error category: Job Errors

The remote agent is started both on the media server and on the remote box (both W3K servers) and stopping/starting does no good. I attempted to load the sp1 (be5629Rsp1_282818.exe) update, however it gets almost all the way through and then rolls back the installation with an Install Wizard Error (no error number) "the wizard was interrupted before Symantec Backup Exec for Windoiws Servers could be completely installed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
