Unable to get msl2024 library to be seen in BE10.1d

tapeinst.exe is unable to see the msl G3 Series autoloader and also does not show up in "configure hardware" wizard (I can see the drive however). The following are things I have tried:

1. disabled library in remote storage
2. changed medium changers driver to microsoft "unknown medium changer" driver
3. tried with HP autoloader driver installed (disabled and enabled library in remote storage).

No combination seems to work for the library to show up in BE. Anyone have other suggestions?

The HCL at http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/281670.htm says to

"Use latest DDI available <>."

I had exactly the same problem with our new MSL4048 tape library with FC tapedrives. BE10d could only see the tapedrives as standalone drives. I also tried to install the HP MSL G3 driver, but nothing helped.

4 days ago I tried to make a completely new installation of BE10d on a new server, and the MSL G3 robotic library with two tapedrives suddenly appeared in the BE10d device list.

I used http://support.veritas.com/docs/280710 to copy the configuration of jobs and media sets from the old server to the new server, and yesterday I had the new backup server up and running.

I hope you can use my advice.
