Unable to restore from Sharepoint backup

Hi,

Running Backup Exec 2010 r3

Need to restore data to WSS 3.0

Have full (successful) backup

I am able to locate the missing directories withing the Backup Exec console, however when I attempt the restore it stays on staging while it Byte Counts through the entire WSS content database and then says restore successful, but then the data doesn't reappear in Sharepoint.

I have the Sharepoint Agent installed and presumably working fine.

Original restore was direct to Content DB, now I'm trying a redirect to dump the files in question direct onto a normal file server, hopefully that will work.

Any other  ideas / pointers more than welcome - I am not very familiar with this product!
