Unattended backup?

After a recent DR migration onto a new server, the settings for unattended backup using Backup Exec 7.2 seem to have been lost.

As such we now have to click OK to complete any backups. Which when we back up emails (and automate the stopping and re-starting of the exchange services at the start and end respectively of this backup), it becomes annoying. The services wont start back up until the OK button is clicked.

This never used to happen, and we were certain the migration retained all it's settings. This is the only difference.

I have read that there is such a thing as unattended backup, which is what is required, but there is no mention of how this is setup.
The only mention of it is to say that when considering to back up open files, never, with a lock, or without, that for unattended backups, never is recommended.

Please could someone shed some light on this matter.

Thanks

Mike

What is the specific prompt that requires a response?

I'd also suggest the free upgrade to v7.3

Thanks for your reply.

The message in the morning says something along the lines of: 'Please remove the media labelled xxxx from the drive and respond OK' .

It then moves from 99% complete to 100%.

Will moving to 7.3, make unattended backup possible?

Not as such, but it is about 2 years newer with all the latest v7 fixes

To get around the "Please Remove" prompt, you can either remove :Eject on End from you jobs and eect manually, or you can see http://support.veritas.com/docs/192055 for some tweaks that should AutoResponse to several alerts, this one among them
