Hi there,

You need to copy the DATA (which contains the databse of backup exec) and CATALOG( which contains catalog information) folders for this.

Once you have your backup fully function you will not be changing things frequently in the Backup Exec like jobs and policies.

The best way in this case is to backup the DATA and Catalog folder manually located at  c:\program files \symantec\backupexec.

You have to stop all the BE services and bkupexecsql service in the services. Once stopped you can take the backup of data and catalog folder.

In case of disaster you have to just install the same version of BE again and stop all the BE services and bkupexecsql service and replace the DATA and CATALOG folder from what you had backed up before.

Start all the BE services and your BE should be up and running the way it was before.

Hello

Stop the SQL server BKUPEXEC service and make a copy of the DATA & CATALOGS

folder. The above folders are located at X:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec.

DATA folder contains the Backup Exec database which has got all the jobs and

settings. CATALOGS folder contains the catalogs of the backup jobs.
