Ver 10 work with Iomega Rev Drive? Veritas please respond

I have backup exec 8.6 and am trying to use the backup to disk option with a Rev drive. The problem is when I run a job it stays queued. I have looked for the .lck file on the rev drive which isn't there, also the device is not paused or offline.

While searching I found in the forum below that you need at least backup exec 9.1 to use a Rev drive.

My question is this:

Is that true that I can't use my Rev drive with 8.6?

and

Can I use my Rev drive with 10.0?

This is running on a windows 2000 server

have you also tried creating a removable backup2disk?

I dont see removable backup2disk as an option in vesion 8.6.

Are you saying I should be able to use version 8.6 with my Rev drive?

Hi,

A Rev drive cannot be used with Backup Exec 8.6 as Backup Exec 8.6 cannot create a removable backup to disk folder on it.
