Veritas 9.1 to 10

Hello,

I have a few questions..

We currently have a dell power edge 2650 with veritas 9.1 installed on it. We purchased a new machine dell power edge 2850 which I have installed veritas 10 on.

What is the best way to import the data for the old server to the new server. (backup jobs etc..) ?

Can you restore data backed up on veritas 9.1 in 10?

The name of the server has changed, do you think this will be a problem.

Hello,

we suggest you to upgrade the Backup Exec v9.1 to 10.0 so that it will upgrade alll the data associated with the 9.1.Install the BE v 10.0 in the eval mode.
-- then you can copy that data to another server dell power edge 2850 where you have installed BE v10.0
-- Copy the Catalogs, data folder on the BE 10.0 media server.

Umm, which solution worked great, the technote or the upgrade? (You didn't mark either as correct so others know which one to try if they have same problem)
