Newsuperuser

Hi there.
I installed 3 agents, configured backup schema on servers side and one of them in not working properly.

Server version is 20.4, Windows server 12
Client OS is CentOS7, agent version RALUS_RMALS-1188.1237

Errors and log from client is in the attachments.

Also I used these instructons
https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100025130
https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100003560
according second one I tested these commands for every backup folder and everything looks fine.

 # ls -ltR /YOUR-DATA-PATH-TO-TEST-HERE
# tar cvf /dev/null /YOUR-DATA-PATH-TO-TEST-HERE

What is the exact version of your CentOS?  7.x? What is the CPU of the CentOS server?

As the error message indicates a communication error and because two of three systems work fine; I would concentrate on what is the difference between the two working and the non working systems.
I would think you can rule out the BE server as such as otherwise you would have the issue with all three servers.

As pkh suggested - is there a diff in the OS and what is the exact OS
in addition:
- difference in network path
- difference in subnets
- difference in open ports
- AV config
- different logon account / security

Hi.
It's virtual machines which are runing on ESXi.
Linux 3.10.0-1062.18.1.el7.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Mar 17 23:49:17 UTC 2020 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
CentOS Linux release 7.7.1908 (Core)
CPU:
Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 0 @ 2.20GHz
2 cores

- Difference in network path and difference in subnets.
All 3 VMs are in same subnet and running on one hypervisor

- Difference in open ports
Iptables and Selinux are disabled.

- AV config
Same configuration of Eset an all VMs.

- different logon account / security
Do you mean account for Veritas backup?

Thank you for help and for the explanation!
But how it's possible that it works on 2 VMs?

Also I cheked users\groups and they are the same for all VMs.

JFYI - CentOS 7.7 is supported with BE21
SCL: https://www.veritas.com/content/support/en_US/doc/BE_21_SCL

Not supported means it is not tested which means that it may or may not work.
