We have a Server running Veritas that backs up Exchange Stores every night to a PowerVolt 220s connected directly to the Server. No sharing required. No change of names exc. Every night, or other night we get the media error obvjously because the drives disapear from the computer when browsing to My Computer.
I reconfigured Veritas and the same problem happens. When I reboot the drives come back online.
We have another network running the same software and hardware. It runs fine every night.
So I put up Performance Monitor to check Avg Disk Que on both systems.
Looks like my Avg for the bad network is 4.1 peaking at 6.7. It's busy handling requests and caching others in the controller otherwise known as queing. I don't know if this includes read write average.
The good backup network is only running .5 with a peak of 1 while backups are running.
