Very Slow Data Rate

i have a new hp ml350 server with lsi pci-x scsi controller and an internal hp lto4 tape drive.

as backup software, i use symantec backup exec 12.

the problem now is, that i have only a transfer rate of 120mb / min.

it is only one server to backup.

what could be the problem.

Is this server backing up itself, or another server over the network?

From the devices tab, right click the tape drive\Properties

What are the settings for

Block Size

Buffer Size

Number of Buffers

Also verify that neither single block option is enabled

puffer size: 64

puffer: 10

both single block mode are disabled

scsi pass-trough-mode - write is enabled

Those settings look OK

How fragmented is the hard drive for this computer?
