Vmware and Exchange support Backup Exec 12.5

We are using 12.5 for data backup only. We like to add support for exchange and our Vmware environment.

Questions:

1. Does it have item level (individual mailbox or item) restore capability?
2. Does it have incremental support for exchange?
3. Same for Vsphere, does it provide item level restore?
4. Does it do incremental as well???

thanks very much.

Nope...we don't have a license for that and Exchange backups/restores work just fine =)

Hi there,

Well, to backup Exchange you would need an Exchange license. This would allow you to backup the Information Store, but do individual item restores out of that.
However, you can add in a VMware license which will allow you to backup your VMs, and do restores from that.
Here's a link to a very well written article on the forum site:

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/techtip-backup-vmware-virtual-infrastructure-using-...

here is a link to the VMware agent FAQ:

http://eval.symantec.com/mktginfo/enterprise/other_resources/b-backupexec_12.5_faq_10-2008_69739.en-...

Both of these will help you! hope this helps?

Laters!
