Want to install DLO without domain or active directory

Steve_Rothkin

We are looking into installing DLO on our laptops to backup data to the server. We do NOT have a domain or active directory (everything is in a workgroup), and we do not want to go through the trouble of setting one up. All of our systems are running either Win XP Pro or Win 2000 Pro (i.e. NONE of them are running a server edition of windows).

Can this be done? How?

Thanks

Hello,

The DLO client can only be installed in a domain environment.

Please consider this a request to support installing DLO in a workgroup (NON-domain) environment.

Hello,

Please refer to the following technote for further clarification:

Desktop and Laptop Option (DLO) components must authenticate to the domain that the DLO server resides on.
