Weekly restore of MSSQL database

LTB
Not applicable

I need to script a restore of a database to occur weekly.

I'm not concerned with the scheduling; but rather, How do I choose the most recent backup to restore from a script.

I know how to do a restore from a script and using the gui.  I just don't see how to either reference the latest full backup with wildcards or ??

thanks in advance

Hi,

No way to do this unfortunately. You'll have to do so manually.

BE has never had this functionality.

Thanks!

I think there is a thread on the Ideas page to allow for Restore file/database xxxx from the latest media in media set xxxxxx

Head on over and give it a thumbs up.  If there isn't one, add a new thread and we MAY see this in a future release (but don't hold your breath)

About the only thing you can do is play around with BEMCLI and do some scripting to get the latest volume in the media set
