Weird BEX 2010 files at root C:\

Good morning, Symantec Community.

Most of the servers that I back up on a daily basis have weird Backup Exec-related files sitting on the root of C:\. What are these files? I assumed they were restore points. Are they safe to delete? Please see the attached screenshot for more details.

Thanks all!

I guess these folders are created when you push updates on the remote server. Its safe to delete these

folders.

Well, if that's the case, then it begs the question why they (Symantec) wouldn't have included some sort of housekeeping job to remove those files automatically.

Before I delete the files, though, I'd like a few more opinions, as these are mission-critical servers.

Thank you for your insight, Amol.

If the remote agent push install completes as designed then those folders will be removed at the end of the install process. However there are some environments where the configruation of the server or other products on the server blocks the removal of these temporary folders and they get left behind. As such they can be removed.
