What do I need to do to fully protect a Win2K/2003 server?

To fully protect and be able to restore a Win2K/2003 app or web server what do I need to backup besides the data to not have to reinstall or reconfigure the programs that live on those servers? I am currently backing up the whole C drive which has greatly increased the size of the data and the running time of the backups.

Other than your system drive the main other item you need to ensure you're backing up is the System state of the server.

For an App server, the System State, Windows Directory, Program Files Directory and any program specific directories

For a WEB server the System State, Windows Directory, Program Files Directory and any WEB specific directories
